File extension LZH
File extension LZH is used archive files created by LHAarc (aka LHA) compression utility. Archive files contain other files and directories in compressed format. This is done conserve disk space and network bandwidth. LHArc was created by Haruyasu Yoshizaki in 1988. LZH files use dynamic and static Huffman ecoding for compression. There several command line utilities that work with LZH files. Japanese version of Windows XP features an add-on that allows to treat LHA/LZH archives as folders similar to zip folders on other versions of Windows.
